Malta offers a range of residency and citizenship programs that have made it a popular immigrant destination in recent years.

Malta has become an increasingly popular destination thanks to its flexible taxation system, 300 days of sunshine, sandy beaches and extraordinary history.

Qualification Criteria

Have stable and regular resources sufficient to provide for oneself and one’s dependents without recourse to the Maltese social assistance system;

Must have assets of at least 500 euros.

Have a clean criminal record

Demonstrate that he/she is not suffering from a communicable disease or health condition that could become a significant burden on the Maltese health system

The commitments required to qualify for this program are:

Payment of a non-refundable administrative fee of €40 covering all parties involved;

Payment of the State contribution fee of €28 if you are buying a property in Malta or €58 if you are renting a property in Malta;

Acquisition of property in Malta worth at least €350 or €300). Instead of buying, the property can be rented for at least €12 per year or €10 per year. The property must be held for at least 5 years.

Donation of €2 to a Voluntary Organization registered in Malta;
